Travel Awards

At the most recent meeting, HealthLINE members voted to create two Travel Awards at $250.00 each to be used to attend the South Central Chapter of MLA in Houston, TX, October 22-27, 2004. One will be awarded to a HealthLINE member and one will go to a library student (TWU or UNT). Click here to apply. Applications must be submitted by August 16, 2004. Upcoming Classes

Two NNLM classes will be offered April 16, 2004 at UNTHSC.

Nursing on the Net: Healthcare Resources You Can Use. 8am-12pm
From the NNLM SCC site: This hands-on workshop is designed for librarians responsible for information services to the Nursing and Allied Health professions. Participants will learn to use and evaluate web-based health information resources, find online news services, continuing online education courses, and consumer health websites.

DOCLINE Explained. 1:30-4:30pm
From the NNLM SCC site: Designed as an introductory class on the DOCLINE system for new or inexperienced users on the current DOCLINE system.

The next meeting will be held on April 15 at the UNT Dallas Campus. Park on the north side of the building and enter at the main entrance which is located at the center of the building. Once you enter the building, turn left at the first hallway and room 212 will be on your right.

The program includes a discussion about clincial decision support tools by Mori Lou and a demonstration of FIRSTConsult and MDConsult by the local MDConsult rep, Clay Norris.
