SCC/MLA Travel Award
WHAT:
The HealthLINE Travel Award was established to defray the expenses an attendee would incur while attending the annual meeting of the South Central Chapter of the Medical Library Association. Two awards will be given: one HealthLINE member whose membership dues are paid in full by the application deadline and one UNT or TWU library science graduate student will be eligible to receive the award of $300 to defray meeting costs. Attendance at this meeting allows the recipient to network with colleagues, register for continuing education courses, hear guest speakers, attend the contributed paper sessions, and participate in the various social events that occur at each year's conference.
HOW:
Use the appropriate form to apply for one of two travel awards of $300 to attend the annual meeting of the 2006 SCC/MLA Annual Meeting to be held in College Station, TX October 20th, 2006.

The Mary Kay Inc. Manufacturing facility is located approximately .5 mi. west of I 35 at 1330 Regal Row. This building is between I 35 and 183. If you are coming from I 35 the third crossover is Empress Row.
Marked visitor parking spaces are available at the front of the building. The front doors are located beneath the covered drive-through about midway into the parking area.

In "Caring for the Mind," participants will learn how to effectively provide reference services for mental health information for the public. Participants will learn the best websites, databases and collection development materials to respond to mental health related questions. Handling the reference interview with care and sensitivity will be explored. The class will include both hands-on and discussion.
CE Credit: Upon successful completion of this class, each participant will receive 3 hours of continuing education credit awarded by the Medical Library Association (MLA).
